INNOCAP project partner Ruralia Institute (University of Helsinki) organised interview sessions with municipal decision-makers from Juva and Kangasniemi, Puumala and Mikkeli in South Savo, Finland. The discussions focused on the themes of green and digital transitions from the municipalities’ perspective and collected feedback to a map-based digital service being developed in the project.

The digital service intends showing spatial green transition indicators on a map and allows local and regional comparisons. The service is aimed at municipal decision-makers and sectoral managers, business partners, and researchers working with regional or local spatial data and advancing green transition with digital means.

The feedback from the municipalities’ representatives is used in developing the digital service in South Savo. The service will also include an AI-powered chatbot designed for assisting users, providing digital insights and developing potential future visions combining green and digital transition on local or regional levels.

This collaborative approach enhances the utility of the service, fosters regional cooperation and advances green transition activities in the region of South Savo.
