Virtual Power Plant for Smarter, Greener Energy

The Virtual Power Plant will enhance grid stability, reduced energy costs, and improved energy efficiency

The COPOWER project is under NPA’s specific objective to promote energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It aims to develop a Virtual Power Plant (VPP): a cloud-based distributed power plant that aggregates the capacities of diverse Distributed Energy Resources (DER). This innovative approach enhances power generation, enables energy trading or selling on the electricity market, and provides demand-side options for load reduction.

COPOWER will demonstrate how communities can meet their own energy needs through a collective power system that increases local participation and control. Key benefits of a Virtual Power Plant (VPP): include enhanced grid stability, reduced energy costs, and improved energy efficiency.

By seamlessly integrating renewable energy sources, the VPP helps reduce reliance on fossil fuels, contributing to a more sustainable future.  Additionally, it empowers users with real-time insights and control over their energy consumption, fostering a more resilient and responsive power grid.
