The ASTRIC project will  during 2025 conduct a "fast demonstration" of several indicators, following a series of learning sessions in October, November and December 2024. These sessions in 2024 will explore the current state of innovation ecosystems within the regions involved, as well as identify aspects of the methodology participants wish to learn more about.

Over the past three years, the RIV project in Västerbotten, Sweden, has developed the METRIC model (Measurement of Regional Innovation Capacity) to assess innovation capacity in Västerbotten, utilizing data from over 300 companies and various stakeholders.

METRIC employs 66 indicators reflecting both public and private sector activities, which help identify strengths and weaknesses within the regional innovation ecosystem. The region aims to share its findings and gather feedback to enhance the model as part of its commitment to advancing innovation knowledge and strategy.

The main aim of the ASTRIC project is to fast demonstrate the METRIC tool, that measures and improves the innovation capacity of ecosystems.
